Biti Tests Positive for Covid-19

MDC-Alliance vice president Tendai Biti has been tested positive for Covid-19, he confirmed today at the Magistrates Court in Harare.

This was revealed when Biti failed to show up in court for his trial of manhandling a Russian national during an altercation outside Harare Magistrates Court.

Mr Biti did not appear in court because “he has been in contact with a person with a person tested positive for the virus”, said his lawyer, Mr Alec Muchadehama.

It was not until state prosecutor Mr Micheal Reza Appealed for a warrant of arrest that Mr Biti showed up in court.

After a one minute appearance the Magistrate excused Mr Biti for the safety of others.

Our reporter later on approached Mr Biti who was isolating himself in his car, for an interview which Biti refused saying he is positive of the deadly virus so he could not do it.

“I can’t do the interview at court and I have been tested positive of the virus so rather call me on my telephone so that we will do the interview”.

Our reporter could not get further details because Biti’s driver had already pulled up the windows.

The trial has, once again, been postponed to the 26th of July 2021.

Chin’ono personalises community livestock

Controversial journalist Hopewell Chin’ono is reportedly to have personalised livestock that farmers in Murehwa were given by the Government through command livestock.

In 2019 Chin’ono received 200 goats from the Government on the basis that he was going to distribute some to youths around his community and of course keep some for himself.

In an interview with other community members who preffered to remain anonymous, ARV News learnt that not a single youth received any goats from Chin’ono.

“When these goats arrived (at Hopewell’s farm), we were told that we were all going to benefit but to our surprise, we woke up one day the whole farm fenced and barricaded”, said 26 year old youth.

One of the workers at Chin’ono’s farm expresses gratitude to the Government for their supporting the farm.

Nevertheless Chin’ono is failing dismally to manage the project. “When the project started we only had one hactre now through the Government we have 3 hactres we are grateful and we appeal for more”, he said.
